Local singer/songwriter and guitarist Tony Baltimore is set to release his first full length studio record. The final touches are being put on the album titled Define the Blur. Baltimore plans to release the 10 track album of all originals in Mid-December.
Baltimore, who moved to Key West a little over 5 years ago, is a talented singer/songwriter and musician who says his style is “Americana with a BritPop flair.” Baltimore’s unique style can be credited partly to his vast taste in music. He credits various artists including John Frusciante, Noel Gallagher, Jerry Garcia, Elliott Smith, The Beatles, The Smiths as influences. “I've been hearing a lot of Elvis Costello lately,” he says.
Define the Blur was recorded at the recording studios at the Key West Theatre. Baltimore would like to thank several local musicians, producers, and other contributors for their roles in helping him to make the release of Define the Blur possible. He credits Nick Norman, Derik Reay, Andrew Gunning, Claire Finley, Joey Marchiano, Lee Venters, Chris Thomas Guastelle, and Tap Johnson for their contributions.
What influenced Tony’s muse for this album? “A number of things but none too specific.” Says Baltimore. “Things that have happened in life, a few things on the news, too many nights out with my friends, etc.”
