Key West is home to many great bands. One of the best in town is The Happy Dog. Originally from the Philadelphia area, The Happy Dog has recently made Key West their full time home. The four piece band is made up of Jesse Wagner on guitar and vocals, Keith Snyder on bass and vocals, Jeremy Tucker on drums and vocals, and Bill Levinson on keys.
This Jam Band has been playing together for about 20 years. Wagner, The Happy Dog founder, is a special musician. He is a world class guitarist, a phenomenal vocalist, and an exceptional songwriter. Snyder, who has a background in Jazz music, is a monster musician. His practice habits and work ethic make him one of Key West’s best bassists. Tucker is a classy and creative drummer with excellent vocal skills. His fun loving attitude is contagious. Levinson is an incredibly talented and accomplished musician having toured with Splintered Sunlight, a popular and national touring Grateful Dead tribute band, throughout the music festival circuit. When these four talented individuals take the stage together they form one amazing band.
The Happy Dog has taken Key West by storm over the past year. They already have a faithful following. Their fans show up all over town from The Sunset Pier to The Green Parrot to The Salty Angler and everywhere in between to watch their beloved band perform. The Happy Dog play mesmerizing covers of The Grateful Dead, Talking Heads, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Little Feat, Bob Marley, and many others. Their original music is nothing short of brilliant. A Happy Dog show takes the audience on a hypnotic musical trip that must be experienced firsthand.
The band plays all over town at various venues each and every week. Check out the Who and Where in Key West Daily Updated Music Calendar for times and places.
